Paul Gleason (May 4, 1939 - May 27, 2006) was an American character actor. He portrayed the role of police chief Dwayne T. Robinson in Die Hard.

Career

Gleason had many film roles, such as The Breakfast Club, Trading Places and Miami Blues. He also had roles on TV shows, including Hill Street Blues, Dallas (The original series), The A-Team, L.A. Law, Walker, Texas Ranger, Dawson's Creek, Cold Case, and Drake & Josh.

Death

Gleason passed away on May 27th, 2006 from mesothelioma, a rare form of lung cancer that is linked to asbestos.
