When Rand was under fire by New York detective John McClane, he comes out of the van with two of his fellow gunmen as Del stood by in the van. When McClane kills one of his comrades by an exploding fire extinguisher, he, along with another surviving comrade avoided the exploding extinguisher and fired at McClane. As McClane and Farrell retreated to the apartment, he informs Rand as he and the other henchman went to the door. When they find the door barricaded by a refrigerator, he and the other henchman fired at the door and the walls nearby to get through the door.
