Die Hard author Thorpe

Roderick Thorp, Jr. (September 1, 1936 – April 28, 1999) was an American novelist specializing mainly in crime novels. He was born in 1936 and wrote 13 novels before his death in 1999. Five of his novels were turned into films, including Nothing Lasts Forever which was developed into Die Hard.

Thorp worked at a detective agency owned by his father out of college, where he gained some experience for his novels. After becoming a successful writer, he taught creative writing at various schools.
