The Capitol Building is shown in an establishing shot of the city when all the alarms go off in every place as civilians (including the FBI) evacuate. It is then shown in a fake tv broadcast, where it is imploded, horrifying many, even John McClane until he sees the real Capitol Building still standing just across from where he watched the broadcast. Deputy Director Miguel Bowman also sees it too. The building is shown one last time when Thomas Gabriel and his henchmen escape in his getaway truck passing through a street, unnoticed.
