West Virginia is a state located in the eastern United States. It is one of the states in the East Coast served by the Eastern Power Hub which gives it power. However, after the explosion, it was one of the affected areas in the East Coast to lose power.
Live Free or Die Hard[]
As John McClane and fellow hacker Matt Farrell were driving to the Eastern Power Hub, they cross the border into West Virginia, indicated by a sign that says:
Welcome to / WEST VIRGINIA / Open for Business
Mai Linh and her two henchmen go to the hub to shutdown the power of the East Coast. However the trio get defeated by McClane and Farrell later on, but the hub is also destroyed, which causes most of the East Coast, including West Virginia, to lose power.
